Gili Air is a very special Island situated North West of Lombok Island and is home to our private Bungalows, our own private Bar and Beach front and of course our mooring for Wanderer 13.

We chose this Island for the rare qualities it beholds - a small island with simple village life & beautiful friendly people.

It's an easy 40 minute walk around the whole of Gili Air Island, with beautiful white sandy beaches and palm groves, coral reefs bathed in crystal clear water - perfect for snorkeling, dive training and safe swimming.

We have surf breaks just meters from our Bungalows on the outer reefs - these are perfect surf breaks for beginners or entry level surf training.

A short walk into the centre of Gili Air Island and you'll find the local shops, village life and cafe's. So peaceful is this island there are no cars or motorbikes - only horse drawn carts & pushbikes.

Close to Bali yet still unspoilt.... like Bali was 15yrs ago!

Our Bungalows sleep 2-3 people comfortably and have western style toilets, wash basins and shower and a separate bath. There are beautiful views from the Bungalows' veranda looking out at our own right hand reef break - and there's nightly sunsets over the volcano of Bali for everyone to enjoy (a must see to really appreciate it).

On the water's edge we have our own beach-front bar and gazebo with simple snack foods of local cuisine or if you're feeling a little more adventurous why not jump on board a horse drawn cart, which pass by regularly, and try out some of the other local bars, cafés and restaurants located in the surrounding beaches.

We've been busy building the Bungalows and Bar just meters from shore line. So far we've build two Bungalows with plans for another two larger (2 bedrooms) Bungalows to be built early 2010.

Flights to Bali (Dempasar) are very regular & range from $699 to $1200AUD. Flights usually include accomodation so with a little juggling you can arrange a flight to Bali, have 2 or 3 days in your accomodation then have a break for 7 to 14 days, then have the other 3 or 4 days accomodation before departure back to Australia.

Jetstar, Quantas, Singapore Airlines or Emirates all have services with similar pricing.

From approximately September or October 2009 the new airport on Lombok should be operational, I will keep you posted on this. once operational, when you arrive in Bali you can arrange a local flight via Merpati Airways to Lombok Island. These flights will cost you approximately 300,000rp or about $40 AUD. 3 or 4 flights a day are available.

Once you are at Matram airport we provide transport via our Indonesian host so look for your name on a card & you will be taken to Bungsall Harbour, a one hour drive through the wonderful and mountainous Monkey forest where you will encounter many monkeys along the narrow thrill ride mountain road to the harbour.

Here you will embark on a public ferry (boat) for a short cross over to our island, Gili Air Island. We'll be there to greet you with a welcome drink and show you to the Bungalows where you can stay until departure for however many days at a very minimal fee, or be loaded onto the Wanderer13 where you can prepare for the charter which awaits you.

Depending on your arrival time at the Island, you should get to see some of Gili Air Island as we usually set sail at night or early evening.
